The 18th century is thought to have been the most prosperous time for embroidery. After a period of relative neglect, it re-emerged in the first quarter of the 20th century, precisely in the region of Castelo Branco. Castelo Branco tableware pays tribute to this traditional Portuguese handwork, reproducing the weaving of the delicate and elegant motifs – the influence of which dates back to the Moorish presence in the Iberian Peninsula – in a sober blue, where only the bright yellow contrasts with the whiteness of the porcelain.
